About Me

Hello, my name is Jade and I am a current senior residing just outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I’m naturally curious, particularly interested in life sciences as well as the humanities. I am especially passionate about advocating for women’s health equity and doing so by combining global health and gender and sexuality studies as well as analyzing anthropological and political influences on health care provision.

I have always held a passion for women’s rights, especially as I grew older and witnessed the many negative consequences endured by females as a result of political decisions or societal behaviors. Additionally, after enduring my own female health struggles and finding a lack of solutions for my symptoms, I resolved to ensure that more research is done on women’s health. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community myself, women’s reproductive health has become an issue of great importance to me, especially when discussing In vitro fertilization. However, due to stigma or shame, fertility is not a topic discussed often enough with young girls, leaving many women uneducated about this system within their body and possible factors influencing their ability to conceive.

In this blog I hope to not only educate but empower women. By providing accessible and easy to interpret information about the female reproductive system I aim to create a safe space for girls to learn about a topic they otherwise may not. Even the simple act of reading about environmental threats imposed on one’s fertility, both physically and socially, helps the women’s reproductive rights movement by giving more female’s general knowledge and a voice over their own body.
